Not-for-profit citizens' membership organization dedicated to the protection, preservation and continued improvement of Chicago's parks and lakefront beaches. Sponsors the annual (Long After Twilight Ends) LATE ride, a popular bicycle ride held overnight.

William W. Powers State Recreation Area

A 160-acre tract was acquired by the state in 1947 and became known as the Wolf Lake Conservation Area. Other acquisitions have now increased the area, to 580 acres, of which 419 acres are water.
