The Lower West Side community is composed of the neighborhoods of Heart of Chicago and Pilsen. It is bounded by 16th Street on the north, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad on the west (about 2600 W), and the Stevenson Expressway and Chicago River South Branch on a southern/eastern diagonal. 1. Fiesta del Sol - Pilsen Neighbors Community Council - Latino community celebration to commemorate PNCC's role in securing the city's commitment to build Benito Juarez High School in Pilsen. Lower West Side Community Collection 1906-1944 - Features provenance, access information, historical note, scope and content, and box and folder inventory for this collection of the Neighborhood History Research Collection gathered by the Chicago Public Library's Special Collections and Preservation Division. 3. Pilsen/Little Village Information Center (P/LVIC) - Provides resource information to residents, businesses, organizations and visitors. Part of the federal Empowerment Zone (EZ) program.
